Globat Hosting is a niche hosting company dedicated to providing small and medium sized businesses, small organizations, web design novices and experienced webmasters with web hosting solutions at favorable prices. Hosting unlimited domains on 1 account is also a great feature.
This company has been through some growing pains in the past, but have taken a serious approach to customer support and ramped up the quantity and quality of its response team.
Globat is now considered a 'go to' option with a renewed focus on the customer experience.
Price Value
The GX01 package offers you unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, free setup and a free domain name if you prepay for 1 year. If you prepay for 2 years your domain is registered free for 2 years.
Reliability
Globat hosts its customers on a fully redundant, custom-designed network infrastructure of brand-name equipment such as Foundry, Cisco, Network Appliance, VA Linux and Sun. Biometric palm scanners and key cards are used to restrict access in and out of the data centers, as well as movement within them. Each cabinet has a dedicated security camera and there are 2 backup generators. No issues here.
Control Panel
Globat Hosting control, Globat Command Console (GCC), is based on the popular Plesk control panel but is both faster and easier to navigate. This control panel features 4 main functions: managing email accounts, databases, protected directories and web statistics. Not all functions of the Plesk software have been implemented yet, which may explain why Plesk is still available as an alternative.
Customer Support
As mentioned above, this area has been vastly improved. More well trained representatives are on hand if you need help which improves wait times and better your customer experience. They offer telephone customer support that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is toll free from the U.S. and Canada. In addition, their live chat provides a solid way to connect with support and get problems resolved quickly.
