The 1&1 datacenter in Kansas City is 55,000 square feet and has 5 server rooms. There you'll get a 100 Mbps connection through Cisco routers to a 20 GBit external connection offering redundant capacity that can run thousands of terabytes of traffic each month with no "logjams".
Power Management
For added support, they have gel battery power banks, 16-cylinder backup diesel generators and miles of UV resistant and halogen free cables ensure continuous power. Two redundant no-break power supplies and a switching station on the roof guarantee that, in the event of power failure, there will be no interruption of service.
Physical Security
Built with walls of reinforced steel, the 1&1 datacenter is designed for your business's ultimate protection. They have over 150 video surveillance cameras that record everything. The data center's only entrance is secured by a security airlock that only 1 person can pass through at a time. Once inside, the building's various areas are secured by a number of redundant security measures, including safety locks.
The safety of the facility and its contents is further ensured by custom-designed argon-based fire suppression systems. The environment is kept at the optimal temperature and humidity with the aid of 8 5,600 KW cooling systems with cooling water sets, open air coolers and recooling units along with bespoke heat exchangers.
