DataCenter
GoDaddy's world class, 30,000+ square foot data center boasts an Ethernet backbone that's DWDM powered, multi-10 Gbit and includes a Multi-Protocol Label Switching/Virtual Private Network to engineer traffic and virtualize connections between networks that are isolated from one another. Your dedicated server will be connected with full Border Gateway Protocol router peering to multiple diverse upstream providers, giving you access to a total of 9 Gbps of Tier-1 level bandwidth.
Power Management
GoDaddy promises full network redundancy and fully redundant (N+1) power with utility power provided through diverse streams and conditioned through redundant uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Plus they have enough diesel backup generators and fuel to run the entire facility for a week or more.
Physical Security
The facilities are monitored by trained security staff 24/7/365 as well as integrated monitoring and dedicated prevention systems that alert the Network Operating Center of the status of all critical power, atmospheric, server, and network parameters as well as ensures that the building's perimeter stays secure. There are ample air conditioning and fire detection and suppression systems in place throughout. Locked cages secure all equipment. The facilities are continually monitored with video surveillance equipment and they utilize multiple Biometric methods (fingerprint, retinal scan) for entry.
Server Access by Customer
Physical Access: No physical access to the server
Root Access: You may install and run anything you want on the server that doesn't violate your licensing agreement.

Assisted Support Plan
For $99.99 per month (per server) GoDaddy's Assisted Service Plan is a dedicated server option that shifts the responsibility of set up, monitoring, backup, maintenance, security, and patching of your dedicated server to GoDaddy's server support team. With Assisted Service Plan, custom support services are also available for an hourly rate. Assisted Service Plan dedicated servers remove your root/system-level access but allow control over all other aspects of your dedicated server.
Assisted Service Plan dedicated servers use Plesk control panel. Windows versions run the Windows Server 2003 Standard or Web operating systems. Linux versions run Red Hat Fedora Core 4. Assisted Service Plan can be purchased with or added to a dedicated server.
Custom Support Options
Extended Support Services are also available through GoDaddy, such as Script troubleshooting, Kernel Modifications, Advanced scripting/web programming help, OS Hardening, IPTables updates, Custom software configuration, PHP/SQL version changes, etc. for $49.99 per half hour of technician time (time quoted in advance of work).
Security and Updates
Host-based security includes GoDaddy automatically scanning and cleansing all emails for viruses and an in-depth monitoring around the clock ensuring that all systems are secure.
Firewall
The Plesk control panel includes a software firewall you could install. Otherwise you may install any software Firewall you wish on your dedicated server. A Cisco PIX 501 external hardware Firewall, good for up to 10-active hosts, can be added for $29.99/month.
Backup Services
GoDaddy offers hardened operating system builds and optional monthly FTP backups of 20 GB, 100 GB, or Unlimited (up to your own total storage) are available at extra cost.
