Demands For Business-level Mobile Apps At Work
A Rackspace Hosting study has found that nearly three quarters of employees are asking for business-level apps to gain access to IT systems on their mobile devices. It is suggested that mobile software applications will soon become the standard way to access IT systems for work.
Key areas of interest include: document management, expense management, customer relationship management and VoIP. More than half of the respondents from the study reported they will be increasing their investments in these areas of interest over the next year.
Over a quarter of the respondents reported they plan to develop their own dedicated corporate app, allowing them to maintain control of app distribution. With cloud computing enabling a more flexible work environment, companies will need to take the next step and make their employees’ desktops available on multiple mobile devices.
