Namecheap has set its second annual Move Your Domain Day for January 22nd. The leading domain name registrar launched Move Your Domain Day to raise awareness about the dangers of a closed Internet as seen with the possible passing of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). Although the threat of SOPA has eased, similar acts continue to pose a threat, which is why CEO of Namecheap Richard Kirkendall wants to continue this annual protest.

On January 22nd, Namecheap will have a transfer special for qualified domains to Namecheap. Domain transfers will be $3.99 and for every domain transferred to Namecheap, a donation of $0.50 will be made to the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
