The End of Google Reader

  • July 12, 2013

Say farewell to Google Reader. The popular RSS news reader will officially close on July 15th. It’s advised that subscribers save their data by this date, or they will not be able to access it anymore.

Google has said the decision to shut down the service was made because of a “deterioration of interest.” However, many loyal users are complaining about the move and feel Google’s unpopular social network Google+ should be scrapped instead.

On the bright side, users will not have to look far or wait long for a replacement. Many companies, such as AOL, have launched similar services to please disappointed Google customers.
