Watch Out for Apache Malware Darkleech

Websites running the Apache web server have been dealing with a malware attack that has been taking place since February 2011.

Known as Darkleech, the malware is installed on compromised Apache web servers. Visitors to the infected websites are directed to sites with attack code installed by the Blackhole exploit kit. These attacks seem to be targeting those using Internet Explorer or Oracle’s Java plugin.

It’s recommended that the proper security measures are taken to protect against these attacks including regularly updating software.
